Madrid, NM is a former turquoise mining town on what is called the “Turquoise Trail” outside of Santa Fe. It is now a thriving artist colony with lots of shops and galleries.

Seen from our back yard one August evening as the light dwindled down. The sky and clouds and light in Santa Fe is an ever changing phantasmagoria of delight.

These flowers proliferate throughout Northern New Mexico every fall. These were growing front of our first house in Santa Fe in 2004.
