I love to watch Layne when she’s loving our trees with their lacey leaves casting enchanting shadows and light patterns.

Clouds Over the Ortiz Mountains

New Mexico skies are dramatic and constantly changing. The Ortiz Mountains are a small mountain range south of Santa Fe off Highway 14, or the Turquoise Trail. There are very old turquoise mines in these mountains. A former mining town called Madrid is now a thriving art colony.

Santa Fe Summer Sky with Double Rainbow

Santa Fe Summer Sky with Double Rainbow

I saw this double rainbow near our home recently as I was driving to the co-op. It lasted a really long time and was very dramatic and beautiful. I took a lot of pictures and I think this is one of the best. I hope you like it! As always, your comments are appreciated.

Santa Fe Winter Scene

Santa Fe Winter Scene

Santa Fe is magical any time of the year, but often especially so in winter during or after a bountiful snowfall. This photograph was shot on the historic East Side of Santa Fe, which is celebrating its 400th anniversary in 2010. Santa Fe is the oldest capital city in the United States and was founded before the Pilgrims landed at Plymouth Rock in Massachusets.
